New Zealand is the home of the Kiwi, the Maoris and a lot of strange slang words and phrases that may confuse visitors, even English speaking visitors.
Note many of these words may also be common to Australia, Britain or both as slang has spread through these countries in particular.
Also known as the Chinese Gooseberry an egg-shaped brown skinned fruit. the skin has a slightly furry texture. Inside the flesh is green with black seeds. Taste varies according to ripeness but could be described generally as slighly tart.
